Bud Verfaillie AIFA, PPC, CFP
Bud Verfaillie is founder and CEO of Victory Asset Management Co. Inc. His 28 years experience in the asset management industry has provided practical applications to identify and correct deficiencies and help clients meet their financial goals. Victory was established to provide clients access to objective information, leading products and customer service using strategies based on Best Practice Standards.
Bud is fighting for full disclosure of all plan costs, dispelling myths executives have concerning their retirement plans including the misunderstanding concerning their roles as fiduciaries.
As little as 5-years ago, there were no professional standards of practice within the company retirement planning industry. Shortly before the scandals at Enron , WorldCom and Tyco, the Center for Fiduciary Studies was established as the first professional organization providing Best Practice Standards. Bud is the champion using these best practice standards.
Bud is the chief architect of the companies 55-point portfolio manager-screening program, which has received national recognition from his peer group. The comprehensive and objective approach has proven to be an effective tool in identifying and monitoring portfolio managers. Bud developed the formal guidelines and protocols for the Investment Committee to follow during their manager review process. He also developed the three-level manager watch-list criteria.
Mr. Verfaillie earned a BA in Business Administration from Rutgers University in 1978. He holds the following professional designations: Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst (AIFA) Professional Plan Consultant (PPC) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He has taught industry classes for professionals who wanted to earn their CFP designation, and other industry licenses. Mr. Verfaillie has lectured and instructed hundreds of financial advisory firms on how to successfully transition their practice from commission to fee-based.
Mr. Verfaillie sits on the board of several local non-profits including Rotary Internatinal. Health, nutrition and fitness have been life long hobbies. Bud has been involved in writing commentaries on evolution, creation and biblical substantiation.
